CHUFSD District-Wide Safety and Emergency Management Plan DRAFT
Notice for 30-day Public Comment Period
A public hearing on the 2025–26 District-Wide Safety Plan was held on Monday, Aug. 21, 2025. However, in July 2025, the New York State Legislature passed Desha's Law, which requires schools to develop and implement Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERPs) to address sudden cardiac arrest incidents on school grounds and during school-sponsored events. In accordance with this law, CERPs have been developed and are incorporated into each of the Districts' confidential Building-Level and District Emergency Response Plan. As a result, the District has updated its draft plan and re-released it for an additional 30-day public comment period.
The 2025-26 District-Wide Safety & Emergency Management Plan DRAFT has been posted on the Districtwide website as of Sept. 26, 2025, for a 30-day comment period.
