Neal has served on the Board since May 1998, and was elected to his most recent term in 2020. At various times during those twenty-three years, he has served as Board President and Vice President. He presently is a member of the Board’s Policy Committee, which he chairs, and the Advocacy Committee, and also serves as the Board liaison to the CET Building Planning Council and the District Emergency Response Team (DERT). In addition, Neal is the Board’s representative to the Westchester-Putnam School Board Association (WPSBA) Legislative Action Committee, and served as a member of the Reentry Task Force and the Bus Electrification Task Force. Previously, Neal has served on numerous Board committees, including Audit, Board Development, and Communications, and was the Board’s representative to the BOCES Capital Facilities Advisory Committee.
He and his wife, Suzanne, who works for the Town of Mount Pleasant Public Library, have lived in the District for 30 years. Their children, Alex and Greg, attended each of the schools of the district, and graduated from Croton-Harmon High School in 2004 and 2008 respectively. Both graduated from Cornell University. Alex lives in Oakland, California and is a philanthropic advisor in San Francisco. Greg earned a master’s degree in environmental management from the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Science, and is employed as a forester with the New York City Parks Department in the Bronx.
Neal, a graduate of Cornell University and Boston University School of Law, is an attorney specializing in the field of labor and employment law. Since 1982, he has been with the firm of Moss & Boris, P.C., located in Manhattan, representing employers, employees and labor organizations throughout the nation. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Labor and Employment Section, and the New York City Bar Association. He has been active in numerous community activities, through his synagogue and local organizations, among others.
