Dr. Mayyasi was elected to his first term on the Board of Education in 2021. He is a member of the Board’s Audit and Advisory committees and serves as a Board liaison to the district’s PVC Building Council.

Dr. Mayyasi moved to Croton with his family in 2015.   His wife, Eve, grew up in Croton and is a graduate of the Croton Harmon school district.  They have two boys, one in CET and one in PVC.  Dr. Mayyasi has over 17 years of financial and change management experience in educational institutions, ensuring teachers and students have the resources they need to be successful.  He is an education economist having earned his doctorate from Columbia University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of New York. 

Prior to serving on the Croton-Harmon Board of Education, Dr. Mayyasi has been a soccer coach, and been on the boards of AYSO and Holy Name of Mary Montessori School.
