Dear Parents and Guardians,
|
At Croton-Harmon UFSD, we are constantly looking for ways to streamline communication and ensure the safety and security of our students. To that end, we are transitioning our attendance reporting process to Infinite Campus.
Moving this procedure to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal allows for a more secure, efficient, and accurate way to document student absences. By using this platform, parents can report an absence at any time of day, and our school offices can process that information directly into our records, reducing the risk of missed emails or transcribed phone messages.
How to Report an Absence via Infinite Campus
Reporting an absence is a simple process that can be completed via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal website or the Campus Parent mobile app:
- Access your Infinite Campus Parent Portal (using a browser or the application)
- On the main menu (usually on the left-hand side), click on More, then select Absence Request.
- Check the box next to the name of the student(s) who will be absent.
- Select the Excused Reason from the drop-down menu (e.g., Illness, Doctor's Appointment, Family Emergency).
- Select the Absence Type (Full Day, Arriving Late, or Leaving Early).
- Enter the Date(s) of the absence.
- Provide a brief explanation in the comments box if necessary, then click Submit.
Timeline for Transition
We understand that adopting new technology takes time. To ensure a smooth transition, we are implementing the following timeline:
- We will continue to accept attendance notifications via phone calls and emails throughout this school year. However, we strongly encourage you to begin using the Infinite Campus tool now to become familiar with the interface.
- Starting September 2026, Infinite Campus will become the primary and required mode for reporting all student absences.
By moving to this digital system, we can ensure that our staff spends less time on manual data entry and more time focusing on student support and safety.
If you have any trouble accessing your Parent Portal account, please contact our technology department for assistance.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our schools safe and organized.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ellen Moskowitz
Director of Technology & Innovation
