     Annual Budget Vote and School Board Election will take place
    Tuesday, May 18, 2021  from 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM at Croton-Harmon High School

    Due to a candidate's withdrawal for a seat on the Croton-Harmon Union Free School District Board of Education, nominating petition submission has been extended.

    In accordance with Section 2018(d) of the Education Law, the time period for the submission of nominating petitions for candidates for the Board of Education has been reopened and extended. Nominating petitions for candidates for the Board of Education will now be accepted until May 11, 2021 at 5:00PM in the Office of the District Clerk. 

    If you have already returned your absentee ballot: You may request a new absentee ballot. 

    If any new candidates are included on the ballot after the conclusion of the extended time period for the submission of nominating petitions, a revised absentee ballot will be sent to all eligible voters who requested an absentee ballot.

    As of March 8, 2021, candidate packets have been updated to reflect the number of signatures required per Senate Bill No. 4430 which is in effect immediately. The number of required signatures for Croton-Harmon Board candidates is 25.  If you have a packet that states 43 signatures required, you can still use it.  You may cross out the 43 and put 25.

    Three (3) School Board Member positions in the Croton-Harmon Union Free School District will be filled by election on May 18, 2021. At that election, voters will select three trustees, one of whom will take over the remainder of former Trustee McFadden’s term immediately after the election to June 30, 2023, with the other two beginning new three-year terms from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024.  Each position is at-large, to be elected by all participating voters. 

    Qualifications for service as a member of the School Board are:  Must be a citizen of the United States of America; must be a minimum of 18 years of age; must be a resident of the District for one year prior to the election; and must be able to read and write.  For more information, email Tracey Borges, School District Clerk, at Tracey.Borges@chufsd.org

    Residents of the District who desire to run for a position on the School Board must file a nominating form with the School District Clerk on or before 5:00 PM on Monday, April 19, 2021. 

    The Annual Meeting, including the election of School Board Member(s), the votes on the 2021-2022 school district and library budgets and a proposition authorizing the District to borrow funds for the purchase of school buses, will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
