The Teen Leadership Council, formerly known as the S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions) club is growing to be one of the largest and most active chapters in Westchester! The Teen Council is a group of students who organize events and activities to raise awareness and encourage others to make good choices. These students act as role models and give their peers positive messages about being healthy and substance free. This past summer, 13 Teen Council members (the highest number of students from any one school) along with 22 other Westchester teens attended a four day National Youth to Youth Leadership Conference at Bryant University in Rhode Island. The students participated in workshops and seminars facilitated by nationally known speakers with approximately 400 teens from across the northeast. Topics included leadership, advocacy, empowerment and inspired teens to be healthy and drug-free, stand up for what is right and to follow their dreams. The students made new friends, exchanged ideas and shared that the conference was a life changing experience!
