CET Tiger Cub Chorus Performs National Anthem at West Point Ceremony

Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School’s 4th Grade Tiger Cub Chorus had the honor of performing the National Anthem at West Point on June 17, 2026, during Keller Army Community Hospital’s Change of Command ceremony.

Led by CET Music Teacher Marlena Horton, the chorus performed as Col. Sally P. VelVecchio assumed command of Keller Army Community Hospital, relieving Col. Sean Hipp. The students did a beautiful job and proudly represented Croton-Harmon during this meaningful military ceremony.

Following the performance, students had the opportunity to extend their learning with a memorable day at West Point. The chorus received a personal bus tour of the campus from an officer, enjoyed a picnic lunch overlooking the water, learned a cadence and how to march, and ended the day with a visit to the West Point Museum.

The experience provided students with a unique opportunity to connect music, history, service, and community while performing in a significant setting. Croton-Harmon is proud of the Tiger Cub Chorus for sharing their voices and representing CET with such pride.
