Croton-Harmon Schools recently welcomed families to Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School (CET) for the annual Third Grade Career Fair, a celebration of student learning, curiosity, and future aspirations.

As the culmination of a career exploration unit, every third-grade student selected a career of personal interest and conducted research to learn more about the profession. Students then proudly shared their findings with family members, classmates, and staff during the Career Fair, transforming classrooms into vibrant showcases of future doctors, veterinarians, teachers, engineers, artists, athletes, scientists, entrepreneurs, and many more.

Parents were invited into the classrooms to visit exhibits and hear students present their research. The event highlighted not only the wide variety of careers that inspire our students, but also the communication, research, and presentation skills they developed throughout the project.

"The range of careers represented reflected the unique interests and passions of our students," said CET Principal Kerri Bianchi. "It was wonderful to see students so engaged and excited to share what they had learned with their families and peers."

The Career Fair received overwhelmingly positive feedback from families. Parents praised the opportunity to participate in their children's learning and celebrated the confidence and enthusiasm students demonstrated while presenting.

One family reflected on the experience, writing, "What an amazing day at CET! From the amazing Third Grade Career Fair to the fun pie-in-the-face assembly, our children were beaming off the bus. Thank you for fostering such a supportive, encouraging, and fun elementary school experience."

Croton-Harmon Schools extends its appreciation to the third-grade teachers and staff who helped make the event such a meaningful experience. The Career Fair exemplifies the district's commitment to helping students explore their interests, connect classroom learning to the real world, and imagine the many possibilities that lie ahead.
