CHUFSD is helping to lead the conversation about what learning should look like in an increasingly digital world.
Last Friday, a CHUFSD team traveled to Albany to participate in a New York State United Teachers event, "Unplugged: Reclaiming Human-Centered Education." As panel presenters, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Laura Dubak, along with CHHS Social Studies teacher and President of the Croton Teachers’ Association Ilana McConville, CHHS Art teacher and former CTA President Jennifer Moore, and CHHS English teacher and Instructional Coach Ashley Valentine, shared the district's collaborative, research-based efforts to refine intentional technology use in the classroom with fellow educators, researchers, policymakers and advocates.
The team discussed the district's work to identify and integrate new analog resources and grade-level technology tools in alignment with ongoing initiatives, such as scheduling shifts, interdisciplinary classes, collaborative teaching and flexible, active learning spaces to further enhance students' educational experience.
"We are proud to share what we are learning with colleagues and districts beyond CHUFSD and contribute to a broader conversation about creating sustainable, meaningful change in education," noted Dr. Dubak.
