Several members of the Croton-Harmon schools’ administration, faculty and staff proudly came out to participate in and support the Harry Chapin Run For Hunger (a 5K walk and 10K race) and 1-Mile Fun Run this weekend. A huge shout out to PVC Assistant Principal Lauren Scollins and CHHS Principal Laura Dubak for running the 10K and 5K, respectively!
Jud Ramaker and Mike Grayeb recognized the district for its partnership over the years and generosity in allowing the event to begin on school grounds. They also celebrated Dr. O’Connell’s commitment to the cause and, in recognition of her support in fighting hunger in (this) community and upcoming retirement, presented her with a fleece jacket with her name embroidered stating “this means she is a lifelong member.”
In accepting the gift, Dr. O’Connell stated, “As we always say, it takes a village and this is a very special village. Croton is a special place, and I thank you for taking part in this event today.”
Principal Dubak commented how great it was to see some of the high school students during
the run. “It’s very clear how significant this event is for the community and Mr. Maxim and I are so proud of the students who have come out to be involved,” she said.
