Croton-Harmon Fall Athletic Teams Achieve New York State Scholar-Athlete Recognition

Each of the six varsity teams in the Croton-Harmon Athletic Program - boys’ and girls’ soccer, field hockey, boys’ and girls’ cross country and girls’ tennis - were recognized as New York State Scholar-Athlete Teams.

At the end of each sports season, the NYSPHSAA honors teams and individuals that excel in the classroom. To receive Scholar-Athlete team recognition a team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90.00. Student-athletes receive a pin and the team receives a certificate which will be displayed at the high school.

Interim Athletic Director Michael Gulino says that the emphasis in Croton-Harmon will always be on how student-athletes perform in the classroom. “We are so proud of our athletes for earning this honor, especially this fall when faced with all of the challenges and changes in their world. We were competitive on the fields and courts and the classroom as well.”
